Swarovski Crystal Bambi

In honour of the Bambi: Diamond Edition release tomorrow, we thought we would post our most exquisite piece of the brave little fawn himself. In 2008 The Swarovski Crystal company released the Disney Bambi set which consists of Bambi, Flower, Thumper, Owl and a title plaque. Flower, Owl and the title plaque have been retired while Bambi and Thumper are still available at your local Swarovski retailers.

Bambi is sculpted in silver crystal with an aurora borealis butterfly. His eyes are surrounded by a frosted crystal outer ring that captures his features perfectly. This piece bears the consistent eye-catching quality that each Swarovski crystal figurine is notoriously known for.

The title plaque for "Bambi and Friends" is a silver crystal sculpted flower with an aurora borealis center. It says "Walt Disney's Bambi" in white text and tops off the Bambi set, embracing the nature theme from the film.

The promotional gift for purchasing $240 CAD or more from the Bambi collection was a lithograph featuring Bambi and his friends. This lithograph was only available while supplies last and stock ran out quickly. Bambi, Flower, Thumper and Owl are specially hand drawn by Disney artist Dave Pacheco and Bambi's name is plussed in Swarovski Crystals. These Disney Swarovski Crystal lithographs are a must-have for any Disney Crystal collector.

Stay tuned for Swarovski Crystal figurines of Bambi's friends; Flower, Thumper and Owl.

Disney Swarovski Crystal Doc

The leader of the seven dwarves made his Swarovski Crystal debut, along with Snow White and the rest of the dwarves, in 2009.  Doc's facial expression and stance portrays his eager, friendly personality. He is sculpted out of clear faceted Swarovski crystal, while his face remains unfaceted. Matt clear crystal fills the white in his eyes and the colour of his beard. His buckle is complete with a topaz crystal, matching some of the other dwarves. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves crystal figurines are still available at Swarovski crystal retailers.

Snow White Swarovski Crystal

Last year, in 2009, Swarovski released Snow White and The Seven Dwarves. Snow White is fairly large standing over 5" tall, while the dwarves are smaller, propotionate to Snow White. Snow White looks very exquisite, with expressive black facial features, her signature red bow,  and is holding an arctic blue crystal chaton. Each dwarf is also individually captured perfectly in the crystal facets! Every one also features a topaz belt buckle. Dopey is carrying the candle (with a jonquil crystal flame) from the scene in the movie. This set also came with a lithograph with a $240+ CAD purchase, that matches Snow White; only available while supplies lasts. So far we have Snow White, Dopey and the lithograph but we intend on completing the set.

As of September 2010, The Lion King pieces have been released. They are now available online and throughout stores. Mufasa is accompanied by Simba, Timon and Pumba on a beautiful sunset display base with a sun golden shine crystal title plaque. There has been no further information about a bonus lithograph, but we will know soon. We are ecstatic about Swarovski choosing the Lion King and will be eventually adding this set to our collection in the future.

Disney Swarovski Crystal

The greatest and most magnificent in genuine crystal sculptures are without comparison to Swarovski Crystal . Some time ago Swarovski teamed up with Disney to create some of the most beautiful and breath-taking crystal pieces released to date. These pieces are wonderful to display and highly collectible.

The first official piece was a Park exclusive of Dumbo. Swarovski created five different versions of Dumbo between 1987 and 1988. Then in 1990 and 1993 two other versions were released. Their second piece was released in 2001, of Cinderella and her glass slipper and it reitred in 2005. In 2005 Mickey and Friends were released, where Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto's classic poses were depicted. Including a mouse-ear shaped title plaque and display base, this set retired in 2008. This is when one of the first Disney Swarovski Limited Edition piece, Tinkerbell. She came with her own star-shaped title plaque that says 'Tinkerbell 2008'. She is now one of the most desired pieces on the secondy market, going for over $1000 on Ebay!

In 2007 Winnie The Pooh and Pals were released. Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet along with a honeypot title plaque and display base. Pooh features an unfaceted face and arms along with a liat siam shirt, holding a faceted balloon on a metal ribbon. There was also a promotion going on if you spend $240 (CAD) or more you recieve a free lithograph with purchase. All pieces but Pooh retired this year in the 3rd quarter. They are no longer available online or through retail stores, unless the store has not sold out of their stock (which most have!). We have accumulated the entire set, including the rare lithograph. The lithograph contains a certificate of authenticity. Only available while supplies lasts. The pictures really do not do justice for these pieces! Once you see them in person they take your breath away.

In 2008, Bambi was also released, along with Flower, Thumper, Owl and a title plaque. The famous scene of a butterfly landing on Bambi's tail was depicted in very finely detailed Austrian crystal, with an aurora borealis crystal butterfly. The display base was butterfly-shaped to match. Bambi also had a promotional lithograph that came with a $240+ purchase, while supplies lasts. Bambi is not retired yet, but will probably retired soon.

Last year, 2009 the first Large Limited Edition Disney piece was released, standing over 6" in height,  was a stunning Sorcerer Mickey. A Small Limited Edition version of Sorcerer Mickey was also released,  with 2009 etched beside the swan logo on the bottom of the back of his cape. He has a black, faceted crystal head, as well as a topaz crystal belt. Now retired.

Earlier this year Pinocchio was released as the Limited Edition Disney character of 2010. He says "Walt Disney's Pinocchio" and 2010 on the base. He features black diamond crystal hair, a feather in kakadu red and golden shadow crystal, a medium sapphire bow and jet crystal eyes. Retires December 2010.

We will post next time with our other pieces and information!
